About the project
On 19 December 2025, the Vilnius District Municipality Administration signed an implementation agreement for the project “Ensuring education support and coordinated services in Vilnius District Municipality” (No. 10-091-K-0016) with the Central Project Management Agency for project funding from European Union funds, co-financing and the municipality’s own contribution.

Target group
Children with special educational needs (SEN) in Vilnius District, their parents (guardians, carers), teachers and education support specialists.
Project problem and goal
Problem: Vilnius District currently lacks coordinated services accessible to children with special needs, their families and teachers, so the aim is to develop a comprehensive support system.
Goal: to increase the supply and accessibility of coordinated new education support, social and healthcare services in Vilnius District Municipality.
Project activities
Mobile education support team
A mobile team will be formed of a speech therapist, psychologist, social pedagogue, physiotherapist and other specialists. The team will assess children’s needs, prepare individual education plans and advise parents and teachers.
Strengthening specialist competencies
Education support specialists and teachers working with children with SEN will be able to take part in professional development training in Lithuania and abroad.
Educational and therapeutic activities
Specialised sessions will be organised for children with SEN: hippotherapy, canine-assisted therapy, art and movement therapy, and similar activities.
Equipment and mobility
An electric vehicle will be purchased for the mobile team’s work, along with modern equipment and other tools needed for specialists’ activities.
Project results
This project will make a significant contribution to the development of inclusive education in Vilnius District, ensuring quality and accessible support for pupils with SEN, their families and education support specialists.
